Finnshifters Book Three
Life at the Jarvela farm hobbles on when the new year rolls in. Losing his wife and co-alpha in the storm of the decade emotionally paralyzed Sean, though he tries to cope and attempts to pick up the pieces with their children. Rider, another alpha, could give him the love and comfort he needs, but Sean is too depressed to recognize the possibility of having a male partner, and he goes into mental tailspin.
Rider makes the hard decision to leave for a while, and Sean turns his energy and sadness into working on the neighboring Metsala farm with the other members of their farm family. But Sean isn’t really getting better, and that won’t change until he can let his wolf out again. If he doesn’t, he might lose his sanity too.

This is the third book in the Finnshifters series) and it is the one I had looked forward to when I read the blurb. It is also the one that, based on what I thought I was going to get and didn't, is the one that has disappointed me.Sean lost his mate and wife, Zoya in the big storm. They are wolf shifters. He saw her die when a tree fell on her and he shifted into he wolf and remained with her body until the next day. Sean and Zoya had just brought a third into their Alpha pair relationship, Rider. They were both enamoured of him and he of them. But when Zoya died Sean checks out while Rider is left grieving alone mostly while helping out with the pups and working on his book. Rider is constantly there offering love and support to Sean who, in his grief, uses Rider for some comfort then feels shame. Rider can't take it any more and goes to escort the Cheetah and Lynx to Africa so Shani (the Cheetah) can meet up with her family. Shani had been stolen from the Serengeti and transported to Russia then escaped to Finland.
The farm they all live on is a sanctuary for shifters in a world that doesn't know about them. The mysterious Council is mentioned and is starting to make an impact on the small family of shifters.
The story is told from both Sean's and Rider's perspective. What is frustrating is the separation that overtakes the book - Rider is off doing research (which we don't see any part of because while he is away we don't see anything from his perspective). Sean is struggling to come to terms with living without Zoya and learning to think about Rider without feeling guilty about his feelings and need to be physically close. He is away for a very long time and it frustrates me because the relationship is what I want to see more of!
Anyway, when they do get together when Rider returns it is satisfying and why I gave it 3 stars. Nice scene of them coming together as true mates...sigh, so nice.
The Metsala farm next door needs to be renovated for a pair the mysterious Council are placing there. It is the build up to a new book...but that book is not there yet...is there going to be a Finnshifters 4? Don't know. Hope so. I recommend Chuffed (Finnshiters 1) and Tiglon by the Tail (Finnshifters 2). Really good read.
This series shows us another culture and a different twist on the shifter genre.

It was good but not as good at other stuff i have read but if you read the sample and like buy you might like it more then me.
