Obliterated 2 Violent Nature is the sequel to Obliterated Would You Know How to Survive? In the first book, as the world’s population was being obliterated, a small, determined group used survival instinct, camping skills and homesteading knowledge to create a refuge alongside New Mexico’s Pecos Wilderness. In Obliterated 2, just as they begin to feel settled, dire warnings are issued about earth changes already underway. To survive the winter and beyond, the Pecos group must quickly travel a dangerous road south through the high desert. They must establish a safe community in a new type of home in order to escape the worst consequences of the reshaping planet. What will they be willing to risk to save a large cache of books in their obliterated world? Real-world survival information is woven into this fast-paced, post-apocalyptic thriller. The sequel begins with a slightly expanded version of the previous book’s epilogue to allow the sequel to stand on its own or to refresh the storyline for readers of the first book.

Obliterated 2 Violent Nature Volume 2 C J Hall Books

This sequel to "Obliterated" is a great continuation and picks up exactly where the first book left off. The group of 13 people take heed to the warnings from the aliens and pack up and move south for safer ground.

Ms. Hall projects the characters and their mindset in a common sense and logical way. The characters are portrayed as "being human", in that; they argue, debate, discuss and even throw their own little tantrums when they disagree with certain plans of action. This portrayal lends credence and realism to the story line and depicts just how a group of people would need to 'get along' and work together in dire circumstances in which they find themselves.

Again, there is valid and logical planning incorporated into this story. Ideas pertaining to the construction of shelters and the use of materials was quite ingenius...something I had never thought of, but are in my long term planning mindset now. Yep...swiped those ideas right into my own notebook, I did.

I was glad to see Sarge, Tinker, Ingram and the crew being brought back into the story. That was a nice surprise and did a lot to enhance the security of the group. Three new characters are introduced also, providing insight to the fact that there is still other people out there who are friendly and willing to help. Ahhhh...but then, there is the "Lewis Gang." Nope, not going to say anything more. You'll just have to read this sequel to find out what happens.

This story ends with an opening of a possible continuation; however, if Ms. Hall decides to leave it where this one ended, that would be fine too. It won't leave the reader with a stalled thought of "what next." There is no cliff hanger...but enough to leave a satisfied smile on the face of the reader.

I'll definately keep Ms. Hall in my listings of authors to watch for in the future. Her writings are intriguing, entertaining and informative, with a vast knowledge base of outdoor living and survival based on common sense and logic.

Obliterated 2 Violent Nature Volume 2 C J Hall Books Reviews

Characters are realistic and situations are succinctly presented and easy to follow while letting you mind choreography them in your head.
Not an ordinary post-apocalypse novel context; nor is it written from any of the usual extreme perspectives of prepper, gun-toter or ignoramus. And, to my great approval, no zombies!

The characters develop well over time, and there were enough twists and turns to keep me engrossed until the end. Very nicely written and edited too. I like Hall's voice in general, and the subtle snippets of humor in particular.

More from this author please!
The title of the book suggests..VIOLENT weather, etc..but the very few earthquakes that happened or were described were nothing! Not even an ash cloud. The author spends a lot of time describing scenery and making camp for the night for the survivor group and unfortunately, you don't relate to any of the characters and this is even after reading book one and two! For the situation the author wants to portray, you would assume their would be a lot of danger and violence in the world that is left. Not in this book...This is G rated, boring, not relatable, and I wish I could get my money back for both books!!! NOT RECOMMENDED...
This is a continuation of Obliterated and should definitely be read after the first one. The characters were deftly reintroduced in the prolog and I enjoyed following them as they continue to search for a new life. Being a Montanan, my only worry is Yellowstone. But I know if the worst happens it will be fatal and quick. (Better that way) After years of primitive camping, although with supplies, most of the tips were known to me. However, there are a few new good ones. The villains in this new story are what I expected and the solution appropriate. My only complaint, thus 4 stars, it was too short! I hope there is a third one and a conclusion to their new life.
This is the second book of the trilogy. I read it some time ago. I only recently wrote a review for the first book Obliteration. C.J. sent me a note of thanks for that review. Until then, I did not know she had a third to complete the trilogy. I have it now and will begin it today.

Now, #2...
Good sequel. Most sequels are annoying often rehashing so much of the preceding book it becomes a distraction. Ms Hall does not treat us like illiterate idiots. (Thanks!) There is a summary of the preceding book, but only enough to get one on track.

Yes, this could be a good introduction to prepping or just keeping oneself in order. The need for a healthy community in an apocalypse is an absolute necessity. The characters were wise in their choices and then stood by them.

I enjoyed the billboard idea very much!!! )

Thank you Ms. Hall.
I had some survival issues with the first book, but I saw potential, so I bought the second book. I'm sorry to say this book struck me as silly.

As best as I can tell, the point of the story is to get the survivors from their first "unsafe" settlement, to a "safe" interior settlement. Unsafe and safe being dictated by the aliens. The survivors agree to help an old woman save a library. And they run into a bad guy. A group of soldiers (from book 1) save the group. The old woman makes an impassioned plea, resulting in what I think was meant to be a shocker of a twist, but had me thinking "Give me a break." The survivors find a suitable piece of land thanks to a nomad who for some reason has decided to help the survivors even though she doesn't want to be a part of their group. The soldiers give the land a thumbs up because it's defendable.

I don't want to discourage this writer. As I said in the beginning, I thought the first book was good, even though I thought the author needed to do more research on survival skills. My main complaint about this book isn't the writing, it's the subject matter. The author tried to spice up a travelogue. I thought the book was going along just fine until the bad guy was introduced. That's the part I find silly.
